Erik T. Potter, Esq.

Erik Potter is the founding partner of Potter MacLellan LLP and a graduate of Boston College, where he received a Bachelor’s degree in political science and philosophy. Mr. Potter earned his Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School in 2005.   In addition to being a licensed attorney he is a licensed real estate broker.

Mr. Potter has been involved with real estate-related transactions since 2000. Mr. Potter began his real estate career while finishing his undergraduate studies at Boston College. During this time, he was a licensed real estate agent primarily focusing on real estate rentals, office management and client development. Throughout the past fifteen years, Mr. Potter has acted as a real estate rental agent; a real estate broker for purchase and sale transactions; a property manager for multi-family and distressed properties, as well as large apartment complexes; and, most notably, as a practicing real estate attorney.

Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Potter accepted a position with the highly-regarded Boston real estate law firm of Gilmartin, Magence & Ross, located in downtown Boston. In 2011, Mr. Potter started his own private practice, and continued to maintain that successful practice, in Cohasset, Massachusetts, until forming Potter MacLellan LLP.

As an attorney, Mr. Potter has focused his practice on transactional real estate and the representation of private real estate investors. In his representation of private lenders, he has acted as the closing attorney for privately financed transactions that are collectively valued at over fifty million dollars.

Mr. Potter grew up in Newport, Rhode Island and he and his family presently reside in Cohasset, Massachusetts where he is a Member of the Town of Cohasset Planning Board and serves on the Board of Directors for the South Shore Art Center.


Craig J. MacLellan, Esq.

Craig MacLellan is a graduate of Boston College High School and Providence College. After graduating from Providence College, Mr. MacLellan attended Suffolk University Law School and was awarded his Juris Doctor. Mr. MacLellan is a licensed Massachusetts attorney and real estate broker.

After graduating from law school, Mr. MacLellan worked in the public sector, initially serving as a gang prosecutor in the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office in Boston. During his time as a prosecutor, Mr. MacLellan honed his skills as a litigator, representing the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as lead counsel in numerous jury trials involving crimes of violence, narcotics, and firearms. Following his time with the District Attorney’s Office, Mr. MacLellan served as an attorney for the Massachusetts Commission on Judicial Conduct, where he investigated allegations of misconduct against Massachusetts State Judges.

Prior to establishing Potter MacLellan LLP, Mr. MacLellan served as a business and civil litigator with Donovan Hatem, LLP, a premier construction litigation firm located in Downtown Boston. As a litigator with Donovan Hatem, Mr. MacLellan represented clients in a variety of cases involving allegations of negligent construction, claims for unpaid fees, and contractual disputes. During his tenure at Donovan Hatem, Mr. MacLellan successfully argued several dispositive motions, realizing favorable outcomes for his clients and avoiding the need for costly trials.

Mr. MacLellan was born and raised on the South Shore and currently resides with his wife and daughter in Hingham, Massachusetts. When he is not practicing law, Mr. MacLellan loves to spend time with friends and family and takes full advantage of the beautiful New England summers, often traveling to the beach, golfing, and sport fishing.
